COLD TURKEY EEEKKKKK!!!!

As of Monday Jan. 11, 2010 I decided to stop eating red meat for 101 days! NO RED MEAT till April 21 eeekkkkkkkkkk!! Normally it would not be so hard BUT with working in the family business (mexican taqueria/grocery food) its hard to resist and cook my own HEALTHY food with there being so many temptations. So I figured if I take red meat out then i'm forced to eat either chicken, turkey and fish which neither of these I mind! My problem starts when my daddy cooks BARBACOA (shredded beef), CARNITAS (shredded pork) and ALPASTOR (marinaded pork) I can smell the food from a mile away. Its hard to SAY NO no No quiero because SI quiero SI quiero; besides who would want to cook with there being so much GOOD food!! So I went COLD TURKEY. I decided right on the spot as I was making my dos tacitos de carne alpastor and I heard daddy make a coment "tu qres que por que nomas son dos tacitos no vas ah engordar"! I said hes right I need to say no torttillas I need to say NO mexican food for a while. I just need to learn to make healthier choices and let me tell you there is nothing healthy about MEXICAN food!

So Here is a recap on what the week has been like so far-
Monday was pretty easy breakfast I had the GREEN MONSTER from gina's blog. I actually got the recipe from a High School friend Jessica Ayers (wonderouswifey.blogspot.com) Lunch was a salad and dinner chicken meatball soup my FM-I-L made. I said to myself if every day could be like monday then I'm good to go. But who said it was easy cause then Tuesday rolled around- Breakfast I had the avena shake from Gina's blog (skinny weightwatchers is what it is after i googled her blog). Lunch I had 2 Tuna tostadas, Dinner was tough I would say my FH decided to eat at the store and have some burritos de carne de pork with rice and beans. I sooooooooo wanted some so so so bad! The thing is I was'nt even that hungery yet cause I had a snack in between- I just wanted some of what he was having and for a sec a split sec I almost did and then I looked at my jeans and remembered that I was wearing a size 12 jeans and I said No mas!! As i was drinking my water I am determined to lose weight and fit into my old jeans and maybe just maybe even get to a smaller size. This morning breakfast was pretty easyi had the green monster again its actually really yummy and filling.

GREEN MONSTER recipe:
1 frozen banana
1 handful of spinach
1 tbsp peanut butter
1tbsp honey
1 cup 1% milk
I think the green monster has by far the best one!!
We shall see how the rest of the day goes, I think i feel so much better after having let it all out! LOL

How did I get so BIG!!!

How did I get so BIG??!?!?!? I asked myself that very question the day I went shopping with my FH and my MOH for a dress for the my fiances cousin's wedding this upcoming Saturday(01/09.10). As, I was trying on dresses in the fitting room anything and everything I picked out was to small(thinking i was my normal size 10) or I did'nt like the way it fit. I have always been a size 8-10 ever since high school, granted I have gained a couple lbs but idealy I have always really fit into a 10. So when a 10 jeans became a size 12 jeans, a size 10 dress became a size 12 dress to almost fitting into a size 14 I FREAKED! When i say freaked I mean I started balling in the girls dressing room. My fiance was so suportive, nice and understanding (despite the fact I was blaming him for my weight gained). His words if I remember correctly were "babe I love you no matter what and I think you look beautiful" this coming from the man i'm going to marry and still I was so upset at myself. My MOH was right next to me the whole time telling me I looked pretty and she wouldn't lie to me. The whole way home I kept asking my self how, when, where? How did i not notice it before? At that very moment I decided I needed to change something this year; I didn't want to feel like umpa lumpa walking down the isle much less get any bigger than what I have already let myself!


Current weight: 168 Goal weight: 135-140

My first goal is to lose 15 to 20lbs by the time we do our engagment pictures!!
